UOW is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Emeritus Professor Mark McLelland, a long-serving academic who made a significant contribution to teaching and research at UOW.

Elisabeth Hilton (1939 – 2020) or Liz as she was affectionately known, had an extraordinary reach and impact on the lives of many as a committed UOW staff member, passionate advocate, honorary Fellow, dedicated volunteer and donor.

It is with sadness that the University advises the passing of the Hon Lawrence Kelly AM, UOW’s Deputy Chancellor from 1978 – 1988.

Ron Stewart was Secretary of Wollongong University College, then Registrar of the new University of Wollongong from 1972 to the early 1980s.  His death on 6 June 2018, aged 88, has saddened many former colleagues and friends.
