The University continues to monitor the developments of COVID-19 and the impact for our staff, students and communities.
As local transmission of the virus continues within NSW, I encourage you all to be mindful and follow these Covid Safe principles:
- Stay home if unwell and seek medical attention
- If COVID-19 symptoms develop, arrange for test and self-isolate
- Continue to observe 1.5m physical distancing
- If physical distancing is unavoidable, wear a face mask.
NSW Health regularly update their recent cases information to include hot spots and places of concern. Local Government Areas in Sydney have now been declared ‘hot spots’ by NSW Government. If you have been to any of these areas in the listed time frames and develop even mild symptoms please refer for testing and self isolate until cleared. The University has established procedures and supporting information for assisting anyone who presents with symptoms on campus and I encourage all staff to be aware of this information.
Both our mental and physical health is paramount and I encourage all staff to check in with each other as ask R U OK? Support resources are available via our employee assistance provider, LifeWorks or other external services such as Lifeline or Beyond Blue.
Thank you to all that have completed Covid Safe Work Plans and I encourage these to be regularly reviewed in light of changing circumstances and guidance from NSW Health. Working remotely remains a viable alternative to reduce the risk of infection and staff should take time to review their ergonomic needs and speak with their supervisor or the WHS Unit on any improvements necessary.
