We’ve all been living our lives differently, and it hasn’t always been easy.  Today is national R U OK? Day and it’s all about making the time to reach out to the people in your lives; family, friends, neighbours and colleagues, to ask whether they are OK.

This year’s theme is “Are they really OK? Ask them today,” to encourage all Australians to think about how the people in their world are faring in terms of mental health. Do you know how the people in your world are really going? Life’s ups and downs happen to all of us. So chances are someone you know might be struggling. Your genuine support can make a difference whatever they are facing, big or small.

Are they really OK? Ask them today. Your conversation could change a life.

You can find lots of great resources on the UOW COVID-19 response page and on the Workplace Health and Safety intranet site.

UOW also provides confidential counselling services designed to enhance the emotional, mental and general psychological well-being of employees through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). All UOW employees and members of their immediate family have access to qualified counsellors via face to phone consultations to assist with a range of work or personal issues that might be impacting their lives. To arrange a consultation with a counsellor please call 1300 361 008 or use the online live chat function on the LifeWorks website where you can make a booking, request an alternative appointment time or ask any general questions.
