To support our transition to the One-UOW model a range of resources and initiatives have been developed.
In addition to the resources and Designing Your Resume Workshops you would already be aware of, there are three new resources and initiatives.
Peer Connect Program
Based on a proposal from the WHS Committee, the Peer Connect Program aims to provide employees with peer-to-peer support in any of the following areas:
- updating your resume
- submitting an EOI application for a position
- identifying strengths and transferrable skills
- identifying areas to upskill for development
- understanding work values and preferred work environment
- transitioning to a new role
- navigating change.
This Program is open to all employees, including those who are directly impacted by the change and those that are not. Registration to participate will open on 1 December and close on 7 December, with the Program commencing with an Introduction Session on 10 December. All expressions of interest will be accepted into the Program.
Navigating Self-Help Resources Webinars
This webinar is designed to provide employees with information on navigating the resources that have been curated and developed to support employees through the transition to One-UOW. The session will cover materials on looking after yourself and others, navigating change and career support. It is aimed at giving participants an overview of what’s available so they can find what they need quickly as well as providing some practical tips for the coming weeks.
This webinar is designed to provide managers with information on navigating the resources that have been curated and developed to support managers and their employees through the transition to One-UOW. Managers play a critical role in this process and need to look after themselves whilst supporting their teams, which can be challenging. The session will provide an overview of what’s available so they can find what they need quickly as well as being able to recommend resources to team members. It will also provide some practical tips for the coming weeks.
As a result of feedback from employees, this resource has been developed for those that are not directly impacted by the changes. It offers strategies for both employees and managers to manage their feelings and wellbeing, whilst supporting their colleagues that are affected by change.
Please note, these resources do not replace any mental health support services. Staff seeking this support can visit the health and wellbeing resources page.
