25 Years as of the 1st of May 2019 – another proud moment being able to receive a 25 years of service award.

What’s your/your team’s role at the University?

Legal Services is a specialist unit that provides a broad range of professional legal services to the University’s executive, faculties, research areas and administrative areas.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

Hands down, it’s working the most amazing people across the Governance and Legal Division.

What’s the most challenging?

Keeping up with constant staff changes in Legal Services.

Proudest work achievement at UOW?

In 2017 I was announced as runner up for the PA of the Year Award Australasia (awarded by Executive Media) and nominated by my Legal Services colleagues – a very proud moment.  Also, winning the Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Outstanding Service (some time ago – 2004) but also in 2015, I received an Administrative Professionals Excellence Award (Highly Commended) – awarded by the Vice Chancellor.

What goals are you/your team working towards in 2018/19?

Implementing a new legal matter management system and various other high level projects.

What’s your fondest memory so far of working at UOW?

Fondest memories for me are again all the amazing colleagues that I have had the honour of working with.  I have seen many come and go for various reasons such as retirement, taking different career opportunities but I have always believed that UOW’s real strength lies in the quality of its staff from professional staff through to academics and all of our researchers.

Random fact about you or hidden talent?

I am the lead vocalist in my own jazz band as well as being a Commonwealth Registered Marriage Celebrant and Justice of the Peace (all in my spare time LOL).

What’s your favourite place in the world and why?

On a cruise ship with my husband.  We have done 15 cruises and it is like you are in a whole other world.  Your problems seem to disappear when sailing the high seas.

Something on your bucket list you’d care to share?

I have always said that before I die, I will get a tattoo of a music note somewhere on my body.  I better do it before I get too old and wrinkly! LOL
