How long have you worked at UOW?

I started working at UOW in February 1993 so I have been here for 26 years.


What’s your/your team’s role at the University?

I work as a technical officer in the Chemistry laboratories, where I provide technical assistance to both academics and students.


What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

To share my love of science (especially chemistry) and being able to assist the students to do well in their chemistry subjects.


What’s the most challenging?

Keeping up with the constant technology changes but I am slowly getting there!


Proudest work achievement at UOW?

I have received a few VC awards during my time at UOW, however my proudest achievement is representing UOW at the National Safety Awards of Excellence and on top of this receiving the National Pinnacle Award, which was a total surprise!


What goals are you/your team working towards in 2019?

To continue to provide quality service to our students so they can have great experience and achieve their best.


What’s your fondest memory so far of working at UOW?

I am fortunate enough to have great colleagues that share the same passion and vision as me.


Random fact about you or hidden talent?

I like hiking so I take any opportunity to get out and about especially in the forest.


What’s your favourite place in the world and why?

It has to be Chamonix in France. I spent some time hiking Mt Blanc which was an amazing experience!


Something on your bucket list you’d care to share?

To tackle a few more mountains (I haven’t decided which ones as there a plenty out there!)
