Q: How long have you worked at UOW?
Seven years.
Q: What’s your/your team’s role at the University?
I am responsible for coordination of relevant systems, applications and processes that support the efficient operational oversight of transnational education delivery at the University’s various offshore teaching locations.
Q: What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
Helping people, I especially get a buzz when one of my offshore clients successfully does something that I’ve provided instructions for.
Q: What’s the most challenging?
Communicating across different time zones.
Q: Proudest work achievement at UOW?
When a senior academic included in their Chair Report their thanks to me for my “ongoing support and for acting on feedback regarding usability problems” for a system I administer.
Q: What goals are you/your team working towards in 2019?
Our team will continue to work towards being a leading truly global university.
Q: What’s your fondest memory so far of working at UOW?
When my team mates called me on a recent significant birthday and sang happy birthday down the phone at me.
Q: Random fact about you or hidden talent?
I regularly play trivia, at the pub, club and online, my team wins occasionally; mostly we don’t, but we keep coming back for more.
Q: What’s your favourite place in the world and why?
At the moment it’s Wollongong, because we have it all right here.
Q: Something on your bucket list you’d care to share?
I’d like to live in France for a while, but it’s a toss-up between Paris and somewhere in the south, might have to be both.
