Eight successful Research Collaboration Fund (RCF) projects address Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the impact of COVID-19.
This year marks the fifth year of UOW’s involvement in the University Global Partnership Network (UGPN). Although the annual conference to be hosted by UOW was postponed until 2021, the annual grant scheme, the RCF, remained open for applications for 2020.
The RCF was initiated to support international activities leading to high quality research collaborations between researchers at UGPN partner institutions: UOW, University of São Paulo (Brazil), University of Surrey (UK) and North Carolina State University (USA).
The 2020 proposals were expected to involve substantive international engagement leading to high quality outputs and with involvement of a diverse team (gender, multi-disciplinary expertise, and career stage).
A total of eight projects, from 38 highly competitive applications, were successfully nominated for funding this year. All projects funded addressed at least one SDG and 4 of the projects also addressed the impact of COVID-19. Five of the projects involved UOW researchers.
Congratulations to: Pascal Perez, Clare Murphy, Sarah Howard, Yi Du, Hugh Forehead, Marcella Bernando Papini, Davoud Mougouei, Aditya Ghose, Hoa Dam.
