The 2020 Seed and Project funding rounds are now open and include two new priority research initiatives in addition to our ongoing challenge areas.

The first is the Olivier Ferrer Fund for climate action and the prevention of inequality and injustice. Olivier Ferrer was a French artist, musician, painter and philanthropist. His family have made a generous and significant gift to enable researchers at the University of Wollongong to address some of the most pressing issues facing our global communities.

The second is a Call to Action for disaster response in our region. This priority research initiative stems from a strong belief that we have a civic responsibility to our communities and region. Up to 50 per cent of funds awarded across all Global Challenges grants in 2020 has been set aside for these projects.

These new priority research initiatives are to be applied for as part of our regular Seed and Project application rounds. Applications close 9 May at 5pm.
