Four UOW researchers have been awarded funding totalling $3.3 million in the latest round of Australian Research Council (ARC) Future Fellowships, announced on Thursday 2 August by Senator Simon Birmingham, Federal Minister for Education and Training.

The UOW recipients – Dr Yi Du, Associate Professor Tim Cohen, Dr Nicholas Deutscher and Dr Mike Morley – were awarded their Future Fellowships for research projects in the fields of materials science, geomorphology (the study of landscape processes), atmospheric chemistry and archaeology.

The ARC Future Fellowships are designed to help the “best and brightest” mid-career researchers solve problems and make discoveries to improve the lives of all Australians. They are funded for four years.
