Would you like to learn more about the link between diet and gut health? We are looking for participants who are overweight and aged between 18 and 60.

The School of Medicine at UOW is seeking volunteers for a new study looking at diet and gut health. The study will investigate how eating different dietary fibres may improve your gut health, and how this influences other areas of your health and wellbeing.

If you fit all of the following criteria, we would like you to contact us:
• 18-60 years
• overweight
• of otherwise good health
• not pregnant
• no food allergies
• willing to consume cereal products (e.g. breakfast cereals)

The study is an intervention trial where you will receive dietary counselling from a qualified dietitian regarding four diets each containing a different dietary fibre. You will undertake each diet for three weeks, with three weeks between each diet phase. In total, this will take approximately 5 months. The cereal fibre foods will be supplied at no cost. The study will involve blood and stool samples collections on eight occasions – at the beginning and end of each diet.
