Researchers in the School of Psychology at UOW are seeking to employ a casual research nurse to assist in the conduct of an upcoming clinical trial. The primary objective of the trial is to determine whether daily treatment with cannabidiol (CBD) over a 12-week period is associated with improved outcomes in individuals living with early-stage dementia.

The primary role of the research nurse will be to conduct weekly home visits with the participants in order to monitor physiological (blood pressure, heart rate) and psychological (mood) parameters, and provide participants with their weekly doses of their capsules. Two blood collections will also be required throughout the trial. Nurses may also be required to support researchers during testing sessions at UOW.

We are looking at employing the research nurse for approximately 1-2 days per week for the duration of the trial. These days will be on a casual basis and dependent on the number of participants at any given point in time. The preferred availability is from Tuesday-Friday. Experience with venepuncture is essential, and experience working with individuals with dementia and/or CBD is preferred but not a firm requirement.
