What a year! 2020 is one for the history books, that’s for sure. Who could have imagined this time last year the ever-increasing number of challenges we would have to deal with. As we reflect on our research successes this year, it is important to remember and acknowledge the extraordinary difficulties we had to navigate to realise these achievements. After bushfires and floods early in the year, we could have been forgiven for thinking that was all we had to face. Then COVID-19 hit, and upended everything.

In what seems like record time, we have become accustomed to: transitioning on-line for everything, working from home, social distancing, hand sanitising, toilet paper shortages, lockdowns, budget cuts. We can be enormously proud that with this backdrop of constant change and readjustment, we have so many significant research achievements to celebrate.

Our year in review newsletter features a selection of UOW research highlights from this unforgettable year of the COVID-19 pandemic.
