On Monday 4 February, UOW College unveiled a new artwork from the collective efforts of the Greenacres Disability Services Outsiders Art Program.

This unique artwork, named ‘Ponds Reflections’ is the fourth piece in a series of art obtained by UOW College in recent years and has been added to the UOW College collection.

This artwork highlights the various abilities of each of the Greenacre Disability Services artists who worked on this project.

Julie Renwick, General Manager, UOW College explained “UOW College and Greenacres Disability Services have a very special friendship, sharing the same values”.

UOW College acquired the artwork in an auction at the annual Greenacres Ball, which the College also sponsors.

As well as supporting fundraising events such as the ball and the Mountain to Mountain Challenge, the partnership allows the College to lend its expertise to the not-for-profit organisation.

Greenacres CEO, Mr Christodoulou said “The proceeds of the piece of art will be used to subsidise the art program at Greenacres, which has now expanded to be integrated with people without disabilities. This is such a unique project for people in the Illawarra. Without the support from places like UOW College, this program would not be able to continue.”
