UOW is committed to doing all we can to help our students through the challenges presented by COVID-19. An important part of this is ensuring students are directed to the correct service or contact point, so that they can receive the information and support they need, quickly.
UOW has introduced the Financial Assistance Grants Scheme, which provides currently enrolled onshore domestic and international students most in need with the opportunity to access emergency funding (that does not have to be paid back) to ease some of the financial burden experienced as a result of COVID-19. It is evident by the large number of applications received to date that many within our community have been significantly impacted.

Staff may also be receiving enquiries about students seeking a loan laptop, or needing internet access, so that they can continue to progress in their studies via remote learning. Or even questions about accommodation or housing support. Directing students to the correct service will ensure we are able to assist students quickly, and triage them to the support mechanisms that best suit their particular circumstances.
