UOW staff who have already upgraded to Windows 10 may need to update their machine to a newer Version that has been released by Microsoft. If your machine requires this upgrade it will be available to download yourself through the Application Catalogue. This is required to keep our machines secure and supportable.
You are able to implement this upgrade yourself at a time that is convenient to you. We recommend that you start the upgrade at a time when you do not need your machine, such as before you go home at the end of the day as it can take some time to install. The upgrade is available to install directly from the Application Catalogue on your computer and will only appear in your Application Catalogue if your computer requires the upgrade.
After Friday, October 12 the upgrade will no longer be optional and will be automatically pushed out to all machines already on Windows 10 by the end of October. More information including an FAQ are available through the Knowledge Base.
