Professor Barbara Meyer from the School of Medicine was recently successful in World Class Professor (WCP) program funded by the Indonesian government.
The World Class Professor (WCP) program is a research project aimed to strengthen cooperation between institutions and to promote the creation of a global satellite research center initiated by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education.
Setyaningrum Rahmawaty a UOW graduate who is now working as an academic Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, Indonesia was successful in obtaining the funding for Professor Meyer to visit Indonesia in August this year.
During the two week visit, Professor Meyer undertook a number lectures and talks to undergraduate students on the her research around the benefits of omega-3 fats.
WCP scheme will help Setyaningrum and her colleagues to increase their research outputs, peer-reviews, and international journals of high quality. Setyaningrum and Professor Meyer are currently writing two joint publications which will be submitted later in November this year.
