UOW has secured more than $1.7 million of Australian Government funding under the 2021 New Colombo Plan (NCP) mobility program – setting a new record for the University’s funding under the scheme.

All four faculties and the Global Strategy portfolio received grant funding allocations for use in 2021 and first half of 2022.

The signature student mobility initiative by the Federal Government provides funding to universities to support Australian undergraduate students to participate in semester-based or short-term study, internships, mentorships, practicums and research in 40 eligible host locations across the Indo-Pacific region.

The program aims at strengthening ties with countries in the Indo-Pacific region through sharing of knowledge and representing the cultural diversity of Australia.

Every year, eligible UOW students benefit by gaining global exposure, building professional knowledge and developing skills in their chosen fields.
