Global Scope initiative provides international students with valuable employment skills.
A new program that pairs international students with mentors in the corporate world was launched at UOW on Monday, 25 June.
Fifty postgraduate students from UOW, from the fields of engineering and business, are taking part in Global Scope, an initiative of StudyNSW and Sydney-based start-up Intersective in collaboration with UOW Careers Central.
With the support of consulting mentors, the students will work across different business projects during a period of three weeks with the aim of delivering solutions to real-world problems experienced by clients.
Ms Nuala O’Donnell, Director of Graduate Career Development and Employability at UOW, said the work-integrated learning program enabled students to gain valuable experience in the fields of business and government, and provided a real insight into life after university.
