UOW has been successful in attracting $1,474,550 of the New Colombo Plan (NCP) mobility funding to support mobility programs for UOW students in 2020 (up from $1,186,900 in 2019). The new funding received under the 2020 round of $716,100 (including a successful consortium project on which UOW is the lead) in addition to forward funding from previous years will support 300 students to undertake mobility projects across the Indo-Pacific in China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Republic of Korea (South Korea), Singapore, Solomon Islands, and Taiwan.

Successful projects range across a variety of disciplines, including Engineering and Information Technology, Management and Commerce, Health, Education, and Society and Culture.
