On Wednesday 28 October, Professor Alex Frino, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Global Strategy), hosted an event to welcome the 2020 cohort of Global Leaders Development Program students to the University. This group of 23 students have been studying remotely for the majority of 2020 and this event was the first time that these students have been able to come together on campus. During the event, four students from the 2018 commencing cohort, who are nearing their final year of honours study in 2021, provided the newly admitted students with an invaluable first-hand perspective of exactly what it is like to study a Global degree.
A series of virtual sessions have been designed and delivered by the Global Strategy team over the Spring semester to ensure that the Global Leaders cohorts are engaged and feel connected and supported in the midst of remote delivery. The final zoom session for 2020 will be held on the 18th November, where students will receive a first-hand account of what it is like to live and study in Dubai and have the opportunity to ask questions of guest speakers; Professor Mohamed Salem, President, UOWD and Professor Payyazhi Jayashree, Dean, Faculty of Business, UOWD.
