The Chalk Rainbow is an Australian initiated world-wide movement which began in 2013 as an expression of community support for diversity and inclusion, specifically gender, sex and sexuality. UOW has proudly been chalking rainbows since 2013 signifying that UOW is a place where everyone belongs and is included. Chalk Rainbow 2020 is on Wednesday 15 April.
This year, the UOW Ally Network would like to invite staff members to participate in a virtual Chalk Rainbow celebration. You can participate by creating your own rainbow wherever you are, and not just on Wednesday 15 April but any day from 9-17 April. You could draw a rainbow on your driveway, courtyard or footpath, or print a rainbow and paste it on your window. You can be as creative as you like. It’s up to you! Once you’ve created your rainbow, take a selfie with the rainbow and send to Kate Lindenau (Workforce Diversity Officer and a UOW Ally). We’ll be creating a collage and posting it via social media platforms. #UOWAllyNetwork #rainbowstogether
If you’re not already an Ally and would love to join, visit the UOW Ally website for more information on how to become a member and support the cause of promoting diversity and inclusion.
