Preparing to Teach Online program enabled smooth transition to remote learning during COVID-19 pandemic
UOW has been named winner of the Australian Financial Review 2020 Higher Education Award for Learning Experience in recognition of the University’s rapid and effective transition to remote learning in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As part of the wider UOW effort to switch to remote delivery, and working to extremely tight deadlines, the University’s Learning, Teaching and Curriculum (LTC) division developed Preparing to Teach Online – a comprehensive self-paced online program designed to support staff with their transition to online teaching and delivered via the open-source learning platform Moodle.
UOW Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) Professor Theo Farrell said winning the award was a fantastic achievement and due to an extraordinary effort by the LTC team.
