The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) has announced the launch of the University’s new Course Handbook. The Course Handbook draws from live data and offers a new cleaner design and layout making it easier for students to navigate and find information about their course and subjects.
This is the finalisation of the latest phase in the development of the Course and Subject Management Online System (COSMOS) and is the culmination of a three year project driven by the Academic Quality and Standards Unit, IMTS and the Faculty Learning and Teaching teams.
The new Course Handbook has been launched to coincide with re-enrolment in the first week of December, allowing new and current students to access the most up-to-date course and subject information when planning their study for 2021. Students are being introduced to the new Handbook with targeted communications delivered via the MyUOW App, the Current Students Newsfeed and with a new T4 Course Handbook landing page, where they can find out more information about the Handbook and how to use it.
In addition to an improved student experience, the COSMOS-based integrated design of the new Course Handbook does away with the painstaking work that was required in faculties to prepare for the annual publication of the old Course Handbook. It delivers a single source of truth for course and subject data with a level of data integrity that was not previously possible.
