A new grants scheme has been announced, which will invest $150,000 in learning and teaching innovations at UOW, in order to advance our goal of empowering students for their future.

Proposals are welcome for projects that will innovate how we teach, and that give our students the skills, knowledge, and experiences to be career-ready and life-ready. We encourage proposals that involve one or more of the following:

  • New subjects to embed STEM skills in non-STEM courses
  • Microcredentials & lifelong learning
  • Innovative work-integrated learning
  • True partnership with industry on skills for the future
  • Co-design and co-teaching with our global campuses
  • Cross-faculty collaboration
  • Digital innovation
  • Advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals
  • And other brilliant idea.

This grants scheme is open to staff located at all of our onshore and offshore campuses. We anticipate providing around $10,000 in support for each project. Regardless, we will make sure that great proposals have the resources to succeed, including teaching relief as required.

It is expected that projects be undertaken in 2022 however there is some flexibility on this is possible if required. We are aiming to have impact from these projects in 2022 and we will be promoting these projects on an ‘Empowering Students for Their Future’ website.

We know how busy you are and so have designed the application process to be easy as possible.

For more information about the scheme and application process, please go to the L&T Innovation Grants website. Expressions of interest may be submitted via an online form by Friday 15 October.
