A review of UOW’s Credit for Prior Learning Policy and Procedure commenced in March 2021 under the guidance of the Educational Policy and Quality Subcommittee (EPAQ).
Some of the main changes include:
- Removal of internal and external definitions from the Credit policy to reduce confusion in the credit assessment process and minimise inequity in outcomes for students who articulate as opposed to transfer, and to strengthen the requirement that the total amount of credit awarded must not exceed the maximum required period of study at UOW.
- Reduce the timeframe for submitting applications for CPL after enrolment by one week to no later than the third week of session to align with the week before census date, noting this change is to encourage early application by students to reduce impact on downstream process.
- Include references to lifelong learning and the assessment of microcredentials.
- Revise the appeal processes for future and current students to streamline and clarify pathways in line with the Review of Academic Decisions Policy and processes.
The policy documents are available on the ‘Policies under review’ governance webpage.
