The Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Advisory Committee is joining forces with Wollongong Academy for Tertiary Teaching & Learning Excellence (WATTLE) to bring their WIL Community of Practice together via a webinar in July 2020.

The Future is here: Remote and virtual WIL at UOW in 2020 and beyond

We know that many UOW Academics have had to make a hasty transition to the online delivery of their subjects, but what does this mean for subjects that involve work integrated learning? We want to hear about your experiences in managing WIL online. Don’t forget, WIL is not just about placements and internships; WIL also includes industry-based projects, simulations, guest lectures and excursions – see the WIL Curriculum Classification Framework for more information.

What would presenting in the WATTLE + WIL Webinar involve? The webinar will last one hour and presenters will speak for 10 minutes about how they managed to deliver WIL online in Autumn 2020.

1. Dr Bonnie Dean and Associate Professor Michelle Eady will provide an overview of the state of play with remote and virtual WIL at a state and national level through the Australian Collaborative Education Network. Bonnie has been heavily involved in ACEN Critical Conversations which provides a platform for discussion around current issues facing WIL practitioners in response to COVID19.
2. UOW Academics are invited to present: Have you transitioned to remote WIL placements? How have you done this? What have been the difficulties? What strategies and resources have you implement.
