UOW is hosting a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Careers Expo and both academic and professional services staff who deal with STEM students are encouraged to promote this free event.

The Expo is the students’ opportunity to meet potential employers who will be on campus to discuss their recruitment programs, and scout for future talent. Employers will be on campus showcasing their vacation and graduate programs, along with other opportunities for students.

This is a free event and open to all students in the Faculties of Engineering and Information Sciences and Science, Medicine and Health. It is most relevant for penultimate year students seeking vacation work and/or planning to apply for graduate programs in 2019.

First and final year students are also encouraged to attend as employers may also provide information on work experience, internships, scholarships, cadetships, mentoring programs, graduate work and entry level roles, to name a few. Employer representatives may also provide useful suggestions on improving students’ employability skills and tips on enhancing their chances of getting a job.
