Tune in to watch the UOW Men’s Football Team represent UOW and the Oceania region in the inaugural International University Sports Federation (FISU) Football World Cup in China.
After winning the UniSport Division 1 Nationals for the second year running, the 18-man side, selected and coached by former Socceroo Luke Wilkshire, will compete against 15 other teams from across Europe, Asia, South America and Africa.
The competition will be held in JinJiang, China between 21 November to 1 December 2019.

In the pool stage, UOW will play against:
- Taiyuan University of Technology (China): Thursday 21 November at 1pm EADT
- University of Malaga (Spain): Saturday 23 November 11pm EADT
- Julius Maximilians University of Wurzburg (Germany): Monday 25 November at 11pm EADT
The squad includes players from a wide spectrum of state and regional competitions including NSW National Premier League, Illawarra Premier League and Illawarra District League.
Of the final squad heading to China, 16 are currently enrolled in UOW undergraduate or postgraduate courses. The other two players completed their studies at the end of 2018 and mid-year 2019 respectively but still satisfy FISU eligibility requirements for this competition.
The side underwent 10 weeks of preparation, training three times per week, before winning UniSport Nationals on the Gold Coast in late September.
