This month, the Advancement Division has launched the University’s annual regular giving campaign, Born of Steel.

The campaign follows a 15 year tradition of seeking donations and is a nod to the University of Wollongong’s founding donors from the Illawarra community, who gave generously and without restriction to create a place of practical higher-learning and research for our region and beyond, entrusting the University would serve the community well.

With our steel city origins, UOW is built on industry, strength of character and a distinctive work ethic. Born of Steel is a recognition of this rich heritage and an acknowledgment of the role philanthropy has played in helping this institution to grow into the world-class University it is today. Our academics, students and alumni alike, are committed to creating change that matters and are fearless in our pursuit of a better society.

Gifts made by our donor community will be used to support students from all backgrounds to thrive and fulfil their potential, power world-changing research that is embedded in communities, and kick-start innovation that benefits people locally, nationally and internationally.
