Residents of Weerona, International House, Marketview and Campus East have got on the mo wagon, and have raised (at time of writing) $3,423 for Men’s health during the month of Movember. This is an outstanding result and a great validation of the community building and values of each of these sites.
Campus East $1,668
Weerona and I House $1,115
Matt Crouch, team captain of Campus East states “2020 has been tough enough as it is, so we thought we’d change it up a bit and have a team event to give back to all those who have struggled out there. Loneliness and isolation can be big causes of depression, so by bringing everyone together we are helping to break that cycle and support others along the way. We’re stoked to have raised almost $1700 and it was great that Chris the DSRM joined in with his filthy trucker mo. Can’t for 2021 where we’ll do it all again!”
Joshua O’Driscoll team captain at Weerona/I house “ “I loved growing a mo, especially with my mates. It was something fun to do toward the end of the year. However, my passion for supporting men’s health stems from losing my uncle to suicide. I wish I could have gotten to know him. That’s why I jumped to organising and participating in Movember as the Team Captain for International House and Weerona College. Together we promoted men’s health and raised $1115 together!”
Manik Bagga, team captain at Marketview says “Movember at Marketview has been an excellent experience that was run and supported by the entire community. The Team for Marketview was able to raise $640 which is an excellent accomplishment for a cause that is worth supporting.”
